Our Chester courses welcome students from Chester, Ellesmere Port, Deeside, Wrexham, Northwich and the surrounding areas, making Mollington an ideal location for structured oil painting courses across Cheshire and North Wales.
In March 2025, we expanded to our Mollington location due to the incredible demand at our Farndon studio. Weekly classes were often fully booked up to four weeks in advance, so opening a second location allowed me to offer more places and welcome even more students into our creative community.
Mollington is dedicated to my structured art courses, with each course focusing on a specific subject such as landscapes, still life, birds and many more . Through live demonstrations, colour-mixing tutorials and step-by-step guidance, these courses provide strong painting foundations while helping students build confidence and develop their own style.
The results have been amazing, with many students producing artwork they never imagined possible—some after painting for just over a year. Seeing that progress is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching.
Each course includes a subject-specific canvas, all paints and materials, printing of your reference images, and optional professional varnishing. New students are welcome on every course, making it easy to join whether you're a complete beginner or looking to build on existing skills.
Please wear suitable clothing, bring an apron, and ensure you can safely take your finished artwork home after each session. Brushes are not included, but you are welcome to bring your own or purchase one of our recommended brush sets.
Structured Oil Painting Courses
Mollington offers themed 4–6 week courses, allowing you to develop your skills through a complete painting project. Each course explores a different subject, such as landscapes, birds, still life or portraiture, with step-by-step tuition, live demonstrations and colour-mixing guidance.
Everything You Need to Succeed
Each course includes professional-quality materials, including a linen canvas, printed reference images, all paints and mediums, so you can simply arrive and paint. Optional professional varnishing is available at the end of the course to protect and enhance your finished artwork. Students are asked to provide their own brushes, or a recommended brush set can be purchased through the studio.
