This course is independently produced and is not affiliated with or endorsed by David Hockney.* 🖌️ What You'll Learn Across five relaxed and supportive sessions, you'll explore essential techniques for contemporary landscape painting, including: 🌳 Simplifying the landscape into strong shapes, composition, and design 📖 Developing ideas in a sketchbook through tonal studies, watercolour colour testing, and composition planning. 🎨 Exploring David Hockney's vibrant colour palette and mixing bold, luminous colours 🖌️ Developing expressive brushwork, layering, and confident mark-making 🧴 Exploring the consistency of oil paint using a variety of painting mediums, including alkyd medium, to create fluid brushstrokes, build layers, and control drying times 🌈 Using colour relationships to capture light, atmosphere, and seasonal changes 🖼️ Interpreting the landscape rather than simply copying photographs 👩‍🎨 Live demonstrations and personalised guidance throughout every stage of the painting process By the end of the course, you'll complete a vibrant contemporary landscape painting while gaining practical techniques and greater confidence to develop your own style and future landscape work. 🧰 What's Included ✔️ Watercolour Sketchbook 200gsm ✔️ Premium linen canvas supplied ✔️ All essential painting materials provided* Please bring your own brushes, palette knife, and apron.
