We’re delighted to introduce this 5-week Still Life Oil Painting Course — a focused exploration of classical painting techniques through the rich visual language of metal, ceramic, and glass objects. Over the course, you’ll develop a single resolved still life painting while gaining the core skills needed to paint convincing reflections, luminous surfaces, and harmonious colour. Who’s It For? This course is ideal for beginners and amateur artists who want to strengthen their painting skills and deepen their understanding of classical oil painting techniques. Whether you’re new to still life or looking to refine your control of light, reflections, and surface texture, the course offers a clear and supportive approach to developing your work. Techniques We’ll Cover: 🎨 Underpainting to establish structure and value 🖌️ Blocking in (Oil Paint) ✨ Painting reflections and highlights 🌗 Modelling form through light and shadow 🖌️ Wet-into-wet blending and edge control 🎨 Building layered colour and subtle surface effects ✨ Exploring glazing to build luminous and reflective surfaces Why Five Weeks? Still life painting rewards slow looking and careful development. Across five weeks, you’ll have the time to study reflections, refine forms, and build your painting gradually while gaining confidence with classical techniques. What’s Included: ✔️ 30 × 40 cm Linen Canvas (ideal for controlled blending and subtle detail) ✔️ All essential painting materials* *Please bring your own oil brushes and apron. Flats, filberts, and a couple of fine rounds are recommended.
