Expressive Mixed Media Landscape Painting 2-Day Oil Painting Course Paint bold, atmospheric landscapes using a mixed media oil painting approach. This two-day workshop is ideal for artists with some experience who want to loosen up, work more expressively, and build stronger, more confident paintings. Working from photographic landscape references, you’ll learn how to simplify complex scenes into strong abstract shapes before developing them into energetic, painterly oil paintings. The focus is on clarity, movement, and decision-making, not tight realism. Using acrylic, oil paint, oil pastel, and drawing media, you’ll create layered, vibrant surfaces that stay fresh and spontaneous. Course Overview: Across 2 days (4 hours per day), you’ll complete a mixed media oil landscape painting focused on: 🧱 Strong underlying structure 🖌️ Expressive, confident mark-making 🎨 Bold, non-literal colour 🌫️ Depth and atmosphere through value and temperature The course combines short demonstrations, guided exercises, and supported painting time. What’s Included: ✔️ 400x400mm MDF painting panel ✔️ Acrylic paint, oil paint, oil pastels, drawing materials, mediums, and turpentine ✔️ Curated photographic landscape references Please bring: Your own oil painting brushes and an apron. Hog brushes, large synthetics, palette knives, and experimental tools are welcome.
