Guided by professional artist Dan Bethell (with over 8 years of teaching experience), you’ll capture the character, movement, and beauty of birds while learning essential oil painting techniques. 🖌️ What You’ll Learn Over four creative weeks, you’ll develop a stunning bird painting, exploring how to combine accurate observation with expressive brushwork. Each session is designed to build your skills step by step, covering: 🎨 Colour mixing for vivid, saturated hues and intense chroma 🖌️ Creating textures — feathers, reflections, water, and soft or sharp edges 💡 Understanding reflected light and how colour relationships enhance realism 🧱 Blocking-in techniques to establish strong tonal structure 🌈 Exploring how saturation and contrast guide focus and depth 🖌️ Brushwork & mark-making — capturing energy, delicacy, and movement ✨ Glazing and oiling out for luminous detail and a professional finish 👩‍🎨 Live demonstrations and hands-on group support throughout You’ll learn how to observe birds as subjects, using colour, texture, and light to bring them to life on canvas with clarity, vibrancy, and atmosphere. 🧰 What’s Included ✔️ A3 Linen Canvas (Premium Italian linen with smooth texture) ✔️ All essential painting materials provided* *Please bring your own brushes, palette knife, and apron.
