Discover the power of colour in oil painting with this immersive one-off 4-hour workshop, inspired by Mitchell Albala’s The Landscape Painter’s Workbook. Whether you’re a beginner or a developing artist, this hands-on session with professional tutor Dan Bethell will transform the way you mix and understand colour. While many landscape palettes include additional colours such as Cobalt Blue, Prussian Blue, Viridian, and Yellow Ochre, this streamlined selection will allow you to develop a deeper understanding of colour relationships, tonal balance, and atmospheric depth. 🌈 Workshop Theme: Colour Mixing – Split Primaries. In this session, you'll work with a highly versatile six-colour split primary palette — a powerful, minimalist colour system that applies to all painting subjects, from landscapes and seascapes to portraiture and still life. Your Split Primary Palette includes: 🎨 Lemon Yellow (Cool Yellow) 🎨 Cadmium Yellow (Warm Yellow) ❤️ Magenta (Cool Red) ❤️ Cadmium Red (Warm Red) 💙 Prussian Blue (Cool Blue) 💙 Ultramarine Blue (Warm Blue) 🧠 Why This Palette Works for Everything Split primaries give you complete mixing flexibility while keeping your palette organised and efficient.
