A Look Back at Our 8-Week Mollington Oil Painting Course
Our 8-week beginner oil painting course at the Five Villages Hall in Mollington has officially wrapped up—and what an inspiring journey it’s been! Over the past two months, we’ve had the pleasure of guiding 11 dedicated students through the foundations of still life painting in oils.
Starting from a burnt sienna underpainting, students learned to establish tonal values and structure before gradually building up colour, depth, and detail. Each week introduced a new layer of technique—from brush handling and colour mixing to highlights, glazing, and final refinements.
The transformation from warm monochrome beginnings to fully realised still life compositions was truly impressive. The final works beautifully showcase the richness of oil paint and the unique vision of each artist.
Scroll down to see a visual timeline of their progress—from blank canvas to finished masterpiece. It’s a testament to what patience, guidance, and consistent practice can achieve.
A heartfelt congratulations to all 11 students for your creativity, commitment, and growth. We’re excited to continue your artistic journey with you on our current landscape painting course—here’s to new challenges, fresh inspiration, and more beautiful work ahead!
