We’ve been asked for years to start running watercolour classes — and we’ve finally listened! I’ve been quietly practising and exploring the medium in the background, learning how to embrace the soft delicate nature of watercolour whilst also pushing saturation and tonal depth. Join us for a one-off introductory session designed specifically for beginner and amateur artists eager to explore the world of watercolours! This hands-on class will guide you through the fundamentals of creating soft botanical watercolour paintings - exploring gentle colour layering - understanding hard and soft edges - and steadily building tonal depth and saturation. Throughout the session, you’ll create elegant floral study inspired by expressive botanical forms and contemporary watercolour techniques. What You'll Learn: 🎨 Watercolour Foundations: Learn the essential principles of working with watercolours, including brush control, paint consistency, and water management. 🌿 Colour Layering Techniques: Explore how to build delicate transparent layers to create depth, softness, and luminosity in botanical paintings. 🖌️ Hard & Soft Edges: Understand how to control edges within your work to create realistic petals, leaves, and organic forms. 🌸 Tonal Depth & Saturation: Develop confidence in gradually building colour intensity and tonal variation without overworking the paper. 🍃 Botanical Study: Apply your new skills by creating a loose botanical watercolour painting inspired by vibrant floral forms and soft organic shapes.
